Chihuahuan Raven Range Map
The Chihuahuan Raven is a year-round resident from south-central and southeastern Arizona, central and northeastern New Mexico, northeastern Colorado and south-central Nebraska south to Mexico and east to western Kansas and central Texas. Northeastern populations, especially those in Nebraska and Kansas, migrate southward in winter. The Chihuahuan Raven favors open, arid grasslands interspersed with yucca, mesquite and cactus. It also occurs in deserts, on the open plains and in arid farmlands, extending into the foothills. Outside the breeding season, it often forms large flocks and roosts communally in canyons and gulches.
